    On February 21, 2007, U.S.A Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with CSA International, Rheem Manufacturing Company and Paloma Industries, Inc., announced that they will hold a voluntary recall to repair more than 45,000 Power Vent tank-less water heaters...

    It has come to light that some models of Tank-Less water heaters as listed below may pose a carbon monoxide poisoning hazard. It should be noted that Carbon Monoxide can cause death or in lesser amounts, disability due to brain damage. The issue lies with certain components inside the water heater may shift during transit to the suppliers and point of install, causing an air filter door switch to malfunction. If the switch fails and the air filter door is out of place, the water heater may continue to operate and dust and lint could build up. As with any gas appliance, it is very important that consumers know the air filter door for these water heaters must be in place to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning -- which can cause death.
